Welcome to Aging, Rehabilitation & Geriatric Care
"Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." - Jack Benny
Aging, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care research at Lawson began in 1998 following the transfer of governance of Parkwood Institute to St. Joseph's Health Care, London
as part of the province-wide health services restructuring. In the beginning, this area of research incorporated activities conducted at Parkwood Institute, the pain research group at St. Joseph's Hospital and research at the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging
, into the Lawson research structure.
This area of research has since emerged into The Aging, Rehabilitation and Geriatric Care Research Centre - the only centre of its kind in Canada. Its centralized research space facilitates cutting-edge research to not only improve the quality of life for seniors, but for all Canadians through the exciting discoveries.
