BioElectroMagnetics Facilities
The Bioelectromagnetics Facilities at Lawson offer the most up to date magnetic field exposure, behavioural and motion tracking, and EEG monitoring/recording equipment housed across approximately 3,000 sq ft of wet, dry, and ACF laboratory space. The equipment in the facilities includes:
  • 1m, 1.8m, and 2m Helmholtz arrays for human and animal magnetic field (MF) exposure
  • Polhemus Liberty motion tracking systems (2x16 channel, usable in tandem)
  • 32 channel ambulatory EEG (x2) (Compumedics)
  • Force plate and finger micro-motion laser monitoring stations
  • MF shielded enclosures from animal to human sizes, with sham enclosures to match (Ammuneal STB)
  • 64 channel EEG (x2) for the human-sized MF shielded and sham-shield enclosures (Neuroscan)
  • 128 channel fMRI compatible EEG for use on the 3T MRI/PET/EEG system (Neuroscan)
  • Pathway/CHEPS fMRI compatible neurostimulation system (Medoc)
  • CF mouse and rat colony, MF exposure system room, MF-shielded enclosures and lab room, and histology room
  • 3 separate wet lab areas with fume hoods
